Would like to start reading the story of Superman.?

How can I start from the beginning, when I know that very first comic of Superman is hard to find, unless I can get a copy of it somewhere? Any suggestions?|||You don't need to read the first Superman comic from the 1930s. That Superman character is very different from the one appearing in DC comics today.

They've re-done Superman's origin several times since then, to update it and keep the character relevant to today's audiences.

The most famous update was in 1986, a miniseries called "The Man of Steel", written and drawn by John Byrne. They pretty much threw aside 50 years of continuity at that point and started over. Should be available in paperback.

The story was revised and told again in 2003, with a mini-series called "Superman: Birthright", and they're about do it AGAIN with a series called "Superman: Secret Origin" - I think Issue #1 should be in comic-book stores right now.

Any of these origin mini-series would make a better starting point than an old issue of Action Comics #1.|||Try to find a comic store or a pawn shop in your area and ask for the expertise of the shopkeeper. A pawn shop would probably have old copies of comics, or they can suggest places to go. Also, sometimes they take down numbers so that if they ever get one, they can call you. I hope that helps!|||superman is gay
