How does Superman reflect the values of the society in which he lives?

I have to write an essay about this and I need some ideas because i know absolutely nothing about him.|||He obviously represents America, and the 50's mindset that we were impenetrable, we'd won the war, developed nuclear technology, were an unstoppable world force, and began playing world police with the creation of the UN.

Just as Superman in unstoppable, strong, and never gives up, hoping for peace and justice.|||He doesn't reflect societal values, but he reflects societal ideals. It takes a strong person to stand up for their ideals when it would just be easier to serve himself not others. I doubt Superman's super-moral outlook really reflects the values of our society at all. A lot of people give lip-service to that kind of morality. They say people should act that way, but really we don't. Greed, lust, self-interest is seen in many places and people throughout our society. Modern America values youth, sex appeal, money, influence, and instant gratification. The values Superman embodies are more in tune with America of a past age.
