Why is it ok for Batman and Superman to take the law into their own hands, but not Jan Brewer or the AZ cops?

Gotham City and Metropolis both have to deal with tons of crime and other problems, but the government / police are either too busy or too corrupt to deal with them. This is why Batman and Superman are both vigilantes who take the law into their own hands.

Why can't Jan Brewer just disregard The Constitution and make her own laws for her state? I mean, sometimes you just have to forget the law / politicians, put on your cape, and save your people, right?|||Batman was deputized by Commissioner Gordon. Or at least Gordon turned the other way when Batman was working.

Superman could do whatever the hell he wanted. Who was going to stop him. He was Superman after all!|||Well, Batman and Superman can disregard the law and not be penalized because they are not real. In reality, if you are the leader of a state that is part of a country, you must follow the overarching rules of your federal government. If you disagree with them, you have to strive to get them changed before you can take any action.

But, that only applies if the action you are taking is unconstitutional. So, the debate is not if the governor of Arizona can pass legislation against the Constitution of the country which she works for (she can't, both legally and in a sense morally, because she is a citizen under the Constitution), but if what she is doing violates the Constitution.

As a part of the government, a governor must follow the Constitution, or attempt to get it changed. They can not just ignore it. There is a reason why vigilante justice is outlawed.|||Fiction and reality are different places. Fiction is where evil men are punished, and I can't imagine Batman rounding up illegals and deporting them in his Bat van while criminals rob, kill, and steal.

Elected officials take an oath to uphold the Constitution, that is why people put on the mask, to disregard the law and become an outlaw themselves to do good.

What you don't seem to realize is that undocumented workers are not evil.|||Because real life isn't a Marvel comic book. "Why can't Jan Brewer just disregard The Constitution and make her own laws for her state?" Because it's the United States of America and not the Confederate States of America.|||Because if we had vigilantes everywhere then shop owners would kill 13 year old kids for stealing a 50 pence can of soft drink...
