Why did the heavy door on the pantry close in Superman Returns?

So gravity was holding down a heavy door to the pantry on the boat that was capsized. How the heck could it suddenly get shut, locking Lois, her beau and child in the pantry?|||The kid had the same powers as supes: Telekenisis. But he could not control it, and accidently shut the door.|||..And how could that guy fly and stuff? Madness ;P
